The wellbeing practitioner and peer support worker service is suitable for:
- Ages 18+
- Not accessing any other therapy and not under secondary care mental health services
- If you would like extra support for your mental health ranging from work stress to ongoing emotional difficulties
If eligible a wellbeing practitioner will conduct an assessment and a create you plan for support. This maybe follow up with themselves, refer to a peer support worker or signposting to an appropriate service.
Suitable for wellbeing practitioner support:
- Up to 1-6 sessions of recovery-focused work
- You want to understand your mental health & ways to manage it (psychological & coping skills)
- You have a goal you want to achieve but need support
- You are looking for holistic support including signposting & other relevant referrals
Suitable for peer support
- Needing ongoing support to continue to implement skills taught by your practitioner
- You wish to speak to someone who has own lived experience and can provide an understanding listening ear
- Open to 'side by side' support to help you try new things in the community by meeting you at a community activity
- You feel socially isolated
- Want to get involved in self-help groups.
Please note this service cannot provide:
- Medication advice / reviews
- Psychological therapy
- Long-term intensive support
- Crisis service
- Support for those with memory issues
- Support for those with severe learning difficulties
- Mental health diagnoses
Contact us online if you would like to have an assessment with a wellbeing practitioner. They are employed by Andover Mind and work with our GP surgery. Appointments can be telephone, video or face-to-face at our GP surgery. Once you submit a request you will be contacted in due course.
