Planning a pregnancy
If you are planning a pregnancy its important to let us know. You are more likely to have a healthy baby if you manage your blood sugar levels before and during your pregnancy. Extra care planning and referrals may be needed.
This is a type of diabetes that occurs during pregnancy. Usually diagnosed on a blood test between 24-28 weeks of pregnancy.
Having gestational diabetes increases your risk of having it again in future pregnancies. It also increases your risk of developing Type 2 Diabetes later in life.
