Blood Pressure Monitoring

Monitoring At Home

We suggest monitoring your blood pressure over 4 to 7 days. Take 2 readings in the morning a minute apart and the same in the evening

E.g. Blood Pressure 140/90. The top number is the systolic and the bottom number is the diastolic

Work out the average reading i.e. Add up the top (systolic) numbers then divide by the number of readings you have taken. Then same for bottom (diastolic) numbers

We suggest investing in your own blood pressure machine. You can purchase from local pharmacies or online

If home monitoring is not possible then please use the BP machines in our waiting rooms at Holmwood Health Centre or Morland Surgery, monitor over 4 to 7 days & then provide us an average reading at the end
