Non-urgent advice: Hampshire Youth Access Counselling
HYA can work with young people aged 5 – 17 (or 24 for care leavers or SEND) who have or are at high risk of developing emotional wellbeing and/or mental health difficulties, and adults around those children – parents, carers, professionals. There are a variety of difficulties for which children may require support. These difficulties include (but not exclusively):
- Family and relationship issues
- Low mood
- Anxiety
- Low self-esteem
- Anger and challenging behaviours
- Self-harm
- Abuse and neglect
- Bullying
- Bereavement
- Suicidal thoughts

Non-urgent advice: Kooth Online Support
A free online counselling & emotional wellbeing support service providing young people aged 11 - 25 years with a safe and secure means of accessing support with their emotional health & wellbeing needs from a professional team of qualified counsellors
- A free, confidential, anonymous and safe way to receive support online
- Out of hours’ availability - counsellors are available from 12pm to 10pm on weekdays & 6pm to 10pm at weekends, every day of the year on a drop in basis
- Online counselling from a professional team of BACP qualified counsellors is available via 1-1 chat sessions or messaging on a drop in basis or via booked sessions
- Discussion boards which are all pre-moderated allow young people to access peer to peer support
- An online magazine full of moderated articles many of which are submitted by young people offering advice and guidance on a huge range of topics

Non-urgent advice: Wellbeing Support Service
To support parents & carers of primary school aged children who are experiencing distressing or challenging behaviours. Referral criteria:
The service is aimed at children from Year R through to Year 7, regardless of their education status Child or young person presenting with behaviours that are challenging or concerning & they have not yet been assessed for a diagnosis They have previously been assessed but it was a significant time ago & behaviours have changed in a way that suggests further support would be appropriate Behavioural concerns can include physical or verbal aggression, repetitive behaviours, refusal behaviours, emotional outbursts, mental health concerns & other behaviours seen regularly Download Referral Form > print > complete > return to our practice |

If you are a young person aged 11-19 & have questions relating to; self-harm, relationships, bullying, weight, anxiety, drugs, smoking, stress, body worries, alcohol & sexual health, then send a text

The messages are then delivered to a secure website. Once received, the school nurse will respond to the text within one working day. Available Mon to Fri from 9am-4.30pm (excluding bank holidays)
Your message will be confidential meaning that information you tell them will not be shared with parents, teachers & others without your consent. We will always encourage you to discuss any worries that you have with your parent/ carer
If they are worried about your safety or the safety of others information may need to be shared with your knowledge to keep you safe
